Every tailor has a bin of random buttons, some young and some very old, accumulated over years of practicing fine craftsmanship. Every customer knows the satisfaction of being able to identify that one button in that bin that can replace a lost or broken one. Orli remembers the joy of looking through button bins, feeling the odd collection of shapes and seeing the odd collection of colors, and picking out a handful of favorite buttons. With a light brush of gold, these buttons are an elegant expression of gilded whimsy. Orli says, “I love buttons and other odds and ends because there are so many creative things to be made with them. Like rooting around in a button bin, these earrings are just playful and fun with a touch of elegance.”

Everyone doodles. Most people doodle on the most easily accessible piece of paper with a pen or pencil, but as a jeweler, Orli doodles in jewelry. Always susceptible to inspiration, Orli enjoys tinkering in her studio with miscellaneous shapes, colors, ideas, and materials. Unintentional, random, and accidental, these works are the products of spontaneous inspiration onsets.
